Programs for Preschools
Preschoolers will be enlightened and entertained with stories, songs, crafts and other age-appropriate activities related to the History Center's exhibits.

Scout Tours and Workshops
Boy and Girl Scouts can now fulfill their "Go See It" and "Try It" activities as well as earn various badges with tours and workshops at the History Center.

School Break Camps
Themed camps take place during Hillsborough County's school breaks, providing fun and interactive ways for kids to spend their days learning more about the Tampa Bay area's rich history.

Family Backpack Adventures
Filled with a variety of hands-on activities related to different themes, these backpacks provide a do-it-yourself adventure for families, allowing for independent exploration in the History Center's galleries.

Florida Conversations
Join the conversation! Led by top scholars, writers, and artists, Florida Conversations are informal talks that explore everything from history, art, and architecture to politics, archeology, and literature.

Leland Hawes Prize in Florida History
College students from around the state are invited to participate in a juried essay competition designed to further the study of Florida History.

Community Outreach
Let us bring the History Center to you! Community groups or organizations may request a guest speaker, or borrow a “History-to-Go” outreach kit filled with hands-on objects.

Tampa Bay History Journal
The Florida Studies Center and its program partners at the Tampa Bay History Center have launched a new history journal with a familiar name – Tampa Bay History.

History Book Club
Join the History Center’s new book review and discussion group.  Designed for people interested in regional and state history, culture, politics, and the environment, our book club provides a forum for stimulating discussion and a chance to delve into a variety of interesting books.
