History Center offers free admission
during Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live!
(Tampa) –The Tampa Bay History Center will offer free admission for all visitors during Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live!, Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
As part of Museum Day Live!, living history reenactors representing Florida’s Civil War-era history will be on hand to interact with guests.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the History Center’s current traveling exhibition Florida’s Got the Blues, which explores the history of Florida blues music from Tampa Red to the Allman Brothers Band.
Visitors will need to download an official Museum Day Live! ticket, good for up to two guests, from the Smithsonian Magazine website. Tickets can be found at Smithsonian.com/museumday.
A Smithsonian Affiliate museum, the History Center is among a prestigious national list of Affiliates; It is one of only 13 in Florida and one of only three Affiliates in the Tampa Bay area.
