Shipwrecks, mutiny, and just a bit of exploration. Expeditions during the “Age of Discovery” had all of these elements and more. Presenter Peter W. Damisch, “Master Mariner & World Explorer,” will share personal stories about life on board a replica 18th-century square rigged ship and what it’s like to adjust sails 40 meters above the wild ocean’s surface under treacherous conditions. Florida Conversations is free and open to the public. It is underwritten by the Tampa Bay History Center endowment fund at USF, with media support by WUSF Public Media. The series is co-sponsored by the USF Libraries Florida Studies Center and the History Center.
