Join us for stories of Florida’s past governors who left their mark on Florida’s political, historical, and cultural landscape. Speakers Boyd Murphree and Robert Taylor, co-editors of the 2020 published book “The Governors of Florida,” will focus on Civil War-era governor John Milton and populist (and prohibitionist) governor Sidney Catts, along with the pivotal 1950s governorships of Dan McCarty, Charlie Johns, and LeRoy Collins.
Florida Conversations is presented both in-person and streamed live via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. from the History Center’s TECO Hall. Free with registration thanks to the support from the History Center Endowment Fund at USF, AARP Florida, and by USF Libraries Florida Studies Center. Media support provided by WUSF Public Media. Free, though reservations are required.
