Home School Groups
Make the History Center your classroom! Visit the museum to enrich your social studies curriculum. Our galleries have an abundance of primary sources, interpretive materials and opportunities to delve into the region’s rich past. Docent-led tours (for groups of 10 or more) provide a fun, hands-on-learning environment. Groups of 10 or more also benefit from our discounted group rates.
Self-guided tours (with no minimum number of participants) may be enriched with the rental of our History Explorer Backpacks designed for ages 6-11 and filled with age appropriate activities such as scavenger hunts, games and stories that relate to our collections and exhibit themes. For a rental fee of $5 per backpack, you will enjoy independent family forays into the galleries and create opportunities for fun and self-directed discovery of our exhibits while delving deeper into the topics of your choice:
- Florida’s First People
- Cigar City
- I Dig Archaeology
- Unconquered Seminoles
