Central Avenue Walking Tour

Tour “the Harlem of the South,” Tampa’s Central Avenue district. Learn about life in Tampa’s African-American community from the 1890s to the 1960s with stops including the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library, Jackson House, and Perry Harvey, Sr. Park. Join a Central Avenue Walking Tour scheduled for 10–11:30 a.m. on April 29, June 10, or June 24. Advance tickets are required, and each tour is limited to 25 participants, who will walk approximately 1 mile. Please wear comfortable shoes and attire for walking outside.

Museum hours
The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
