Join us on 7th Avenue in front of Hotel Haya as we come together as a community to honor Ybor’s past and participate in its living history. In a symbolic tribute\, 140 hands will come together to roll a single cigar\, guided by professional cigar rollers\, representing the generations of craftsmanship that built this city. \n\n\n\nGuests are invited to sign up for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. \nSIGN-UP \nThroughout the afternoon\, enjoy: \n\nCuban sandwich bites and paella from Hotel Haya\nPop-up mobile museums from the Ybor City Museum Society and Tampa Bay History Center\nStories and surprise guests sharing the rich history and evolution of Ybor City\nA community-driven\, come-and-go atmosphere on historic 7th Avenue\n\nAt 2:15 PM\, we’ll gather for the final roll a celebratory moment marking the completion of the cigar and honoring 140 years of heritage\, resilience\, and community. \nWe invite locals\, businesses\, and visitors alike to stop by\, take part\, and be part of Ybor history. \nValet parking will be available at Hotel Haya for $10\, with additional city parking located throughout Ybor City. SUMMARY:Jazz: Then and Now
DESCRIPTION:A HarpSound Live! concert\n“Jazz: Then and Now” brings the sound of jazz to life through live performance and stories from the Tampa Bay area’s music past. Throughout the evening\, Dick Rumore\, former owner of Paragon Music Center\, will share stories about the history of jazz in the Tampa Bay area\, giving the audience a closer look at the people\, places and performances that helped shape the local scene. \nThe concert features clarinetist Frankie Brown Jr.\, saxophonist Al Chisolm and GQ Sound. Chisolm is a longtime presence in the Tampa Bay area music community whose career includes USO tours across the United States\, performances with The On Que Players and ongoing work as a solo artist. A self-taught musician\, he is known for a style shaped by gospel\, soul and instrumental jazz. \nA production of Unlimited Gospel Expressions\, the concert is sponsored by the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival and will be held at the future home of Tampa’s Black History Museum. \nGET TICKETS \nTogether\, these artists offer a program that honors the foundations of jazz while showing why the music still matters. “Jazz: Then and Now” is a chance to hear outstanding musicians\, learn more about the Tampa Bay area’s jazz history and spend an evening with music that continues to leave its mark.

DESCRIPTION:Tampa Riverfest returns to the Tampa Riverwalk on Friday and Saturday\, May 1 and 2\, bringing its annual two-day celebration of food\, music\, family-friendly activities and waterfront fun to downtown Tampa. \nHeld the first weekend in May each year\, Riverfest spans the Tampa Riverwalk and highlights the city’s cultural institutions\, local musicians\, restaurants and public parks.
