SUMMARY:An Evening in Celebration of Frederick Douglass
DESCRIPTION:On Feb. 7\, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.\, in honor of Black History Month\, the public is invited to attend a free event at Tampa Theatre commemorating Frederick Douglass and his important role in our country’s history. The evening will begin with a brief program about Douglass presented by Mr. Fred Hearns\, Curator of Black History at the Tampa Bay History Center\, followed by an interactive performance by Mr. Nathan Richardson: “Frederick Douglass speaks on Democracy.” This event is sponsored by NSCDA-FL Tampa Town Committee\, The Frank E. Duckwall Foundation\, and the Tampa Bay History Center. \nThis event does not require reservations and is suitable for all ages.
