Rodney Kite-Powell, director of the Touchton Map Library, leads this month’s Sangria session, guiding you through the exhibit “Navigating in the Age Before GPS: Nautical Charts of Florida and the Caribbean.” Just the second show in the all-new TML, the exhibit features a dozen large-scale nautical charts dating back to the late 1700s, focusing on the coastal areas along the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Designed for a more intimate, up-close experience, Sangria and Stories takes place inside the History Center’s galleries and is limited to just 25 attendees. Admission includes parking in the History Center’s garage, a glass of Columbia Cafe Sangria, gallery access, and the presentation. Pre-registration is required.
