Bring your group to the History Center. Perfect for field trips, adult and senior groups or corporate outings, spend your day exploring Florida’s past. Guided and custom tours are available, too.

School Field Trips

The History Center welcomes field trip visits from public and private schools, day camps and home school groups from throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

Field trips are ideal for 4th grade students and above, but we can accommodate any age group.

Groups

Perfect for a day trip,  visitors can explore three floors of exhibits, and have the option to dine in the Columbia Cafe, shop in the Museum Store, or explore the Tampa Riverwalk.

Scout Tours

Scout Tours

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can fulfill “Archaeology” and “Celebrating Community” badge activities by exploring the History Center’s galleries. Learn about the life of a Florida pioneer in our rustic Cracker cabin, watch a Florida cattle drive, or learn how to use the stars to navigate the high seas in our Treasure Seekers gallery. For no additional charge, a knowledgeable docent can help your scouts learn about Florida’s early native people, the events that caused Seminole Indian culture to adapt over time, and the industry that put Tampa on the map. Scout Groups (min. 10 /max. 30): $8/scout Chaperones (one per five students): Free Additional Chaperone: $11.95/adult *Badges are not provided by the History Center. Please contact your troop leader regarding the purchase of badges and other scout materials. For all Scout tours, pre-registration is required. Tiny Tours

Get hands-on with our in-gallery experience for groups of “tiny” history lovers! Have fun with Tampa’s past with age appropriate games and activities. Tiny Tours are available for Pre-K to 2nd grade students.

Pre-K and Kindergarten tours are approximately 50 minutes; Tours for 1st and 2nd graders are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  • Pre-K – 2nd  Grade Students (min. 10/ max. 100): $8/student
  • Chaperones (one per five students): Free
  • Additional Chaperone: $11.95/adult
