This course chronicles the history of Florida from 1821 to 1865. It examines the expansion of cotton cultivation, the development of the railroads, the U.S.-Seminole conflict, and Florida’s role in the U.S. Civil War. Brad Massey, Ph.D., Saunders Foundation Curator of Public History, will instruct this virtual course from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 21 and 28.
