The Tampa Bay History Center is welcoming applications for a full-time Facility Technician. The facility technician oversees day-to-day operations and maintenance of TBHC facilities to ensure building conditions are suitable for employees to perform their jobs efficiently, effectively, and safely and to provide visitors with a clean, well-maintained, and safe environment. 3–5 years of facility maintenance experience, including building maintenance, security, construction, and operations. The preferred candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, voice/data communications, and building maintenance systems.
Technical knowledge
- Guides the vendors engaged in facilities, machinery, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or Hillsborough County/City of Tampa and TBHC rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Follows appropriate safety and/or service plans to alleviate risk, provide protection, etc., for employees and visitors
- Follows maintenance programs, processes, and/or practices for quality and effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
- Supervises vendors engaged in moving/reconfiguring furniture and equipment and is involved in facilities maintenance and upkeep.
- Acts as TBHC representative in dealing with police, fire, building inspector, health inspector, and other local and state authorities.
- Works with security personnel to implement and maintain security policies and procedures. Analyzes, investigates, and documents security exposures and recommends solutions.
Hourly wages
Between $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
