Central Avenue Walking Tour

$20Explore the city’s Central Park neighborhood and the history of Tampa’s historic Black community along Central Avenue. Discover tales of the area’s musical references, which offer insights into African-American life in Tampa from the 1890s to the 1960s.
Each 90-minute walking tour begins at 10 a.m. at Tampa’s Black History Museum at Encore. The museum, located at 1213 N. Central Ave. in Tampa’s Central Park neighborhood, is a historic red brick structure between Central Ave. and Governor St.
Participants will walk approximately one mile along public sidewalks, brick streets, and Perry Harvey Sr. Park. Please wear comfortable shoes and attire to walk outside.

Museum hours
The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Members: Free
**First responders and veterans may receive discounted admission at Visitor Services.
