Discover the worlds of Kirsten Larson™ (1854), Melody Ellison™ (1964), and Julie Albright™ (1974) through engaging storytelling and interactive activities. Campers will explore daily life in these eras with hands-on experiences such as traditional games and crafts, while making meaningful connections to Tampa’s history during each time period. This camp goes beyond learning history. It’s about building friendships, sparking curiosity, and creating unforgettable memories. Join us for a fun-filled journey through time!

Designed to spark curiosity and a sense of adventure, campers will explore the world of archaeology, from underwater excavations to land-based digs, while uncovering fossils along the way. Each day is packed with hands-on experiences that encourage discovery and foster a deeper understanding of how archaeologists study the past. Watch your child’s fascination come alive as they unearth history’s secrets and leave camp with new knowledge, confidence, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Embark on an exciting journey through Florida and Tampa’s rich history at our Pirates and Explorers Camp. Campers will explore the fascinating world of pirates, learning to separate fact from fiction, and discover the legends that have captured imaginations for generations. They will dive into the mysteries of the deep sea, encounter extraordinary sea creatures, and follow in the footsteps of famous explorers as they set out to discover new lands. This camp offers a dynamic mix of learning, adventure, and fun, perfect for curious young minds eager to explore the past.

The girls loved the connection with the galleries and activities associated with the galleries. In particular, they so enjoyed the pioneer experience. As to activities, the girls played with their crafts each evening so it was a major success.
Both of my kids love absolutely everything about camp. I love that they love it and there is never any complaining about going. They beg to stay until the very end of the day and get mad if I pick them up early! I also like that they are learning while having fun!
This is first and only time I have had my son in ANY after school activity or summer camp that the directors have let me know so thoroughly everything about the camp and what was going on. It was the best experience both my son and I have had with any camp hands down. I have already been recommending the History Center to everyone I know.
