Black History Book Club: “The Message” by Ta-Nehisi Coates

We are excited to announce the next season of the Black History Book Club at Tampa’s Black History Museum on Feb. 23, 2026.
This free event begins at 5:30 pm at 1213 N. Central Ave, at the Black History Museum. The February book for the month is called The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Purchase this book by visiting the Tampa Bay History Center Museum Store or find the title online.
Join us for a community discussion on this collection of essays that slips into different cultural experiences, travels across global locations, and also addresses historical injustice. The author explores themes of colonialism, heritage, beauty standards and the power of the written word.
