FAMU Annual Farm Fest

Celebrating Florida Emancipation Day
On May 20, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was announced in Tallahassee, Florida. The Tampa Bay History Center in partnership with Florida A&M University’s Brooksville Agricultural and Environmental Research Station, invites the community to the FAMU Annual Farm Fest on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chinsegut Hill Historic Site in Brooksville.
We will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. with the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, followed by a processional to the FAMU Farm Fest. Join us for guided tours of the historic site, an agricultural showcase, a health expo, and hands-on demonstrations. Enjoy live performances and a variety of food vendors offering regional cuisine.
