Florida Conversations: Tampa’s Soulwalk

FREEFred Hearns, curator of Black history, and Robin Nigh, arts and cultural affairs manager for the City of Tampa, join a distinguished guest panel that designed the Soulwalk arts and heritage “trail.” Nearly 100 stops spanning approximately 46 miles across 25 neighborhoods tell the rich history of Tampa’s Black communities and highlight the diverse, thriving, creative community in present-day Tampa.
Special guests include Nneka Jones, artist and creative director for Art You Hungry; Cheryl Rodriguez, Ph.D., with USF’s School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies; and Ida Walker, with the Tampa Police Department. Registration is required.
AARP Florida, WUSF Public Media, and USF Libraries provide support for Florida Conversions.

Museum hours
The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
