OLLI-USF: Tampa Grows

Starting with its first suburb, Tampa Heights, Tampa grew north by annexing neighborhoods like Seminole Heights, Sulphur Springs, Belmont Heights, College Hill, and others. We will closely look at these communities and take a deeper dive into Temple Terrace, another beautiful and historic neighborhood. What better way to understand Tampa’s history than through its neighborhood history? Carl L. Zielonka, DDS, and Sharon Gaskin lead this OLLI-USF course from 1:15–3 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 9 at the Canterbury Tower Retirement Community. Register through the OLLI-USF website. History Center members can have their OLLI-USF member fee (not the course fee) waived by calling Charisse Dixon at (813) 974-5848.

Museum hours
The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Members: Free
