Walking Tour: Ybor City

The Tampa Bay History Center invites you to explore Ybor City through the lens of history, culture, and community. This guided experience is part of our walking tour series, designed to connect you with the places and stories that shaped Tampa’s past and still influence the city today.
On this 90-minute tour, you will discover Tampa’s only National Historic Landmark District. Discover the people of early Ybor City, their social lives, and work culture. Walk past mutual aid societies, the Ybor Cigar Factory, and other landmarks that reveal how immigrant communities built a thriving cigar capital and left a lasting legacy.
Tours are limited to 25 participants, ensuring a more personal experience. Whether you are a local or a first-time visitor, you will gain a fresh perspective on how Tampa’s history continues to shape its culture today.

• Tours begin at 10 a.m. and cover approximately one mile on public sidewalks and brick streets.
• Meeting place: Centro Ybor, 1600 E. 7th Ave., in front of Jimmy John’s.
• Parking: Street parking or the Palm Avenue/Fernando Noriega Jr. garage.
• Please wear comfortable walking shoes and attire for the outdoors.
