Central Avenue West Walking Tour

Journey through what was once known as Tampa’s “Black Wall Street,” where Black businesses thrived for decades. History Center Curator of Black History, Fred Hearns, leads this special tour with stops at Oaklawn Cemetery, St. Paul’s Church and the Kid Mason Community Center. This tour is part of the History Center’s Black History Month programs and is offered free with registration. Meet at St. Paul A.M.E. Church (502 E. Harrison St., Tampa, Fla.).

Advance tickets are required and personal tours are available by calling (813) 228-0097. Each walking tour lasts 90-min. beginning at 10 a.m. from various locations. Limited to 25 people, participants will walk approximately one mile along public sidewalks and brick streets. Please wear comfortable shoes and attire for walking outside.
