About Michelle Hearn

Director of Curatorial Affairs

Michelle Hearn, the director of curatorial affairs, oversees collections and exhibits at the Tampa Bay History Center. She has a master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in cinema studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she also earned a certificate in culture, media and history.

Before joining the staff in 2024, Hearn served as senior curator of research and collections for more than 13 years at the Museum of Florida History in Tallahassee. Among the exhibits she curated are “Civil Rights in the Sunshine State,” “Living the Dream: Twentieth Century Florida,” and “Sun, Sand, and Speed: Florida Auto Racing.” She also developed exhibits for the Union Bank Museum, which opened in February 2024.
