“Strumming Through History at the Tampa Bay History Center” with Visit Tampa Bay

Watch “Strumming Through History at the Tampa Bay History Center,” a conversation filmed inside the History Center’s Treasure Seekers gallery. In this episode of Unlocking Tampa Bay, hosts Bryan Burns and Molly Barbieri sit down with Audrey Chapuis, the new President and CEO of the Tampa Bay History Center, who stepped into the role in December 2025 after spending 11 years leading the American Library in Paris.

Set inside one of the History Center’s signature galleries, the conversation offers a closer look at how the museum connects visitors with Florida history through exhibitions, artifacts and public storytelling. From local heritage to broader regional narratives, the video reflects the History Center’s role as a cultural resource for residents, students, researchers and visitors and peaks in and out of the latest galleries and exhibits that are on view now.

The Tampa Bay History Center is located on Tampa’s Riverwalk and features three floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions exploring more than 12,000 years of Florida history. Its galleries examine Indigenous history, Spanish exploration, cigar heritage, maritime culture, maps, migration, community life and the forces that shaped the Tampa Bay area.
