Chinsegut Hill Field Trip Guide

Discover Chinsegut Hill Historic Site as a destination for your next school field trip. Student tours can be arranged for grades 4th–12th and are especially appropriate for students studying Florida and U.S. History, physical geography, science and agriculture.

Overview

Students explore this National Historic Landmark and spend approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes learning about the significant eras and people that shaped Chinsegut Hill.

Primary sources connect historical events closely to Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Tours also correspond to Hernando County’s social studies curriculum calendar and cover the Great Depression, World War I and II, Civil Rights Movement, state industries, and famous Floridians.

Student groups are scheduled at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bus parking is available, and students may bring a picnic lunch.

Admission

Student field trips require a minimum of ten students in attendance and may not exceed 60 students. One adult must accompany every ten students. Students: $7; teachers and chaperons: free; and additional adults: $10.
