Chinsegut Hill Historic Site Field Trip

All field trips for the Spring of 2023 are SOLD OUT. However, you can book your field trip today for the Fall of 2023. The Chinsegut Hill Field Trip Experience is geared toward elementary school students studying Florida and American history but can be adapted for all grade levels.

THE FIELD TRIP EXPERIENCE:
45-minute historic house tours include object-based learning using props and touch carts. Stations include:

  • The Plantation Era
  • Early Life in Hernando County
  • The African American Experience

45-minute outdoor activities where students will engage in:

  • Archeological activities to explore Chinsegut’s earliest Indigenous history
  • Early Hernando County commerce through a peddler’s cart
  • Fact-finding scavenger hunt while exploring the historic hill

More information

  • Maximum capacity is 60 students and 12 chaperones.
  • Students can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.
  • Ample parking is available on the grounds adjacent to the house.

Admission
Student field trips require a minimum of ten students in attendance and may not exceed 60 students. One adult must accompany every ten students. Admission is free! (February 1 – March 15, 2023)
