An Evening in Celebration of Frederick Douglass

FreeOn Feb. 7, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., in honor of Black History Month, the public is invited to attend a free event at Tampa Theatre commemorating Frederick Douglass and his important role in our country’s history. The evening will begin with a brief program about Douglass presented by Mr. Fred Hearns, Curator of Black History at the Tampa Bay History Center, followed by an interactive performance by Mr. Nathan Richardson: “Frederick Douglass speaks on Democracy.” This event is sponsored by NSCDA-FL Tampa Town Committee, The Frank E. Duckwall Foundation, and the Tampa Bay History Center.
This event does not require reservations and is suitable for all ages.

Museum hours
The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
