Black History Book Club: “Bourgeois Blues” by Jake Lamar

We are excited to announce the next season of the Black History Book Club at Tampa’s Black History Museum on June 29, 2026.
This free event begins at 5:30 pm at 1213 N. Central Ave. The June title is Bourgeois Blues by Jake Lamar. Purchase this book by visiting the Tampa Bay History Center Museum Store or find the title online.
Join us for a community discussion centered on the autobiographical work of Jake Lamar, an American-born writer and journalist, as he reflects on his experiences growing up in the 1970s and 1980s and how race, class, and social mobility shaped his life and work.
