Black History Book Club: “Bourgeois Blues” by Jake Lamar

Join the next Black History Book Club for a special discussion with Jake Lamar, author of Bourgeois Blues, on June 29, 2026, at Tampa’s Black History Museum.
This free event begins at 5:30 p.m. at 1213 N. Central Ave. Lamar, a Harvard alumnus and American-born writer and journalist, will join the conversation to share insight into his autobiographical work, which explores race, class, social mobility and coming of age in the 1970s and 1980s.
