OLLI-USF: Florida’s Land Boom

February 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Al Burgert and first car on Davis Islands, Tampa, Fla. Courtesy, Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System.

Tampa grew a lot in the early 1900s – its neighborhoods, homes, and hotels. Historian Rodney Kite-Powell will share these changes using artifacts and maps from that era. History Center docents Carl Zielonka and Garry Moore will add to this by highlighting new Bungalow-style homes and grand hotels, such as the Don Cesar, Vinoy, Fenway, and Floridan.
