OLLI-USF: Holiday Traditions in Florida and Tampa
November 6 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join the History Center’s docents and guest speakers as we discover Tampa’s distinctive holiday spirit in our course, Holiday Traditions in Florida and Tampa. Explore the cherished traditions and past festivities that have shaped Tampa’s identity. We will discuss the ill-fated Tampa Snow Show, the raucous Guavaween parades, the exciting Epiphany tradition in Tarpon Springs, the Tampa Emancipation Day, and the Victorian Stroll at the Henry Plant Hotel.
We will end the course with a visit to the TBHC temporary exhibit, Holiday Traditions in Florida, on Nov. 6. Exhibit admission is included in the course price.
Register through the OLLI-USF website. The OLLI-USF member fee (not the course fee) will be waived for History Center members by calling Charise Dixon at (813) 974-5848 or email [email protected].
