This month’s West Tampa Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held at the Tampa Bay History Center in TECO Hall. The theme is “Green and the Luck of the Irish” in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, with lunch catered by the Columbia Cafe. The program will feature Rodney Kite-Powell, director of the Touchton Map Library, presenting on West Tampa history with highlights on cigar factories and archival photos from the Tampa Bay History Center collection.

The West Tampa Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, membership-based organization dedicated to strengthening local businesses, enriching communities and enhancing quality of life in West Tampa and surrounding areas. Founded in 1918 as the West Tampa Commercial Club and officially becoming the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce in 1929, the organization has a more than century-long legacy of leadership, advocacy and collaboration. Today, the chamber is a network of businesses, nonprofit organizations and individual members who connect through networking, advocacy and community-focused initiatives. Its service area spans Hillsborough Avenue to the north, Dale Mabry Highway to the west, Kennedy Boulevard to the south and the Hillsborough River to the east, including Drew Park.
