Make the History Center part of your Riverfest weekend

We’re open late this weekend for Riverfest!

Tampa Riverfest, presented by Publix Super Markets, returns to the Tampa Riverwalk this Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2.

Held the first weekend in May each year, Riverfest is a free, two-day public event that spans the length of the Tampa Riverwalk and highlights the city’s cultural institutions, local musicians, restaurants and waterfront parks. The weekend includes Taste of Riverwalk on Friday, Taco Fest on Saturday, live music at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, a balloon glow at sunset both nights, a lantern parade, yoga, a water ski show, a wiener dog derby and more.

To celebrate Riverfest weekend, the Tampa Bay History Center will stay open until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, giving festivalgoers more time to explore the museum while enjoying the Riverwalk.

Located at the southern end of the Tampa Riverwalk near Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, the History Center is an easy stop before, during or after the festivities. Visitors can explore three floors of Tampa Bay history, take in waterfront views and enjoy a meal at Columbia Cafe while downtown.
