Central Avenue Walking Tour
Take a journey through Tampa’s historic Central Avenue district, known as the “Harlem of the South.” Delve into the tales of this African American community from the 1890s to the 1960s, exploring landmarks around Tampa’s Black History Museum and Perry Harvey Sr. Park. Walking tours are available on select Fridays, starting at 10 a.m. and lasting 90 minutes.
Lace up and explore with us! Secure your place on these engaging monthly walking tours by purchasing advance tickets. Members receive a 20% discount by signing in to their member account before completing the purchase. Tours are limited to 25 participants and cover approximately one mile. Dress comfortably and wear suitable shoes. Tours commence from various locations, not at the History Center, and your confirmation email will include the specific meet-up location.

The history center is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
**Galleries are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and open until 3 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
